VLA Seeks Volunteer Members for Board of Trustees

Vermont Legal Aid presently has five Board of Trustees openings:

  • 2 Attorney Member vacancies
  • 2 Community Member vacancies
  • 1 Client Member Vacancy

To be eligible for the Attorney Member vacancy, a candidate must be:

  1. a legal Vermont resident;
  2. admitted to practice law in Vermont (and in good standing);
  3. appointed by the Board of Managers of the Vermont Bar Association; and
  4. experienced in finances, if possible.

To be eligible for the Community Member vacancy, a candidate must be:

  1. a legal Vermont resident;
  2. understand the needs of low-income Vermonters; and
  3. represent an underserved community, if possible.

To be eligible for the Client Member vacancy, a candidate must be:

  1. a legal Vermont resident;
  2. eligible to be a VLA client (with income below 200% of the federal poverty level, or $49,720 for a family of 3); and
  3. represent an underserved community, if possible.
