Employment at VLA
People who work at Vermont Legal Aid (VLA) have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals. To influence rules and policies that impact large numbers or classes of people. And to protect the dignity and rights of those who are marginalized, while striving to help release them from the grip of poverty, discrimination and inequality.
Our bright, dedicated and passionate staff includes attorneys, paralegal advocates and ombudsmen, and administrative and support staff. All job applicants must demonstrate a commitment to justice for low-income people and the ability to work effectively with diverse clients.
Working from five offices, we serve the entire state of Vermont. Our staff is organized into 11 projects focused around the needs of our clients. Vermont Legal Aid offers excellent benefits.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building cultural competency in order to effectively serve our increasingly diverse client community. VLA invites all applicants to include in their cover letter a statement about how their unique background and/or experiences might contribute to the diversity, cultural vitality, and inclusive perspective of our staff and our legal services practice.
